The Oil and Natural Gas Commission (ONGC) organised a walkathon as part of Swachhta Pakhwada, which is being observed from July 16- 31. The walkathon was held from ONGC dispensary at Prakash Nagar to Base Complex. The walk was flagged off by D M R Sekhar, Executive Director-Asset Manager.

Rajahmundry: The Oil and Natural Gas Commission (ONGC) organised a walkathon as part of Swachhta Pakhwada, which is being observed from July 16- 31. The walkathon was held from ONGC dispensary at Prakash Nagar to Base Complex. The walk was flagged off by D M R Sekhar, Executive Director-Asset Manager.

Speaking on the occasion, Sekhar said that ONGC is observing Swachhta Pakhwada across the country. Besides creating awareness on Swachhta Bharat Abhiyan, the company is undertaking construction of community toilets in its operational area and striving to achieve the goal of open defecation free nation.

Later, he informed that Rajahmundry Asset is going to undertake Swachh Godavari initiative on July 28 under the aegis of East Godavari district authorities. Arrangements for the programme are on full swing, he added.

More than 400 participants of the walkathon gave the slogans Swachh Bharat Sada Rahe, Swachh Rajahmundry Sada Rahe. Participants included ONGC employees, Special Protection Force personnel, Kendriya Vidhyalaya students, office bearers of Association of Scientific and Technical Officers’ Petroleum Employees Union, All India SC, ST E
