​Tirupati: Tirumala police has breathed a sigh of relief, as seven-year-old Nandini, who was abducted on July 23 was reunited with her parents. Police has arrested kidnapper Shalini on Friday morning in Karnataka.

According to Tirupati SP Abhishek Mohanty, Shalini (32), a native of Bengaluru came for darshan Tirumala on July 20. She stayed more than three days in Tirumala and attracted Nandini at her father working place Asthanamandapam.

On July 23 Shalini kidnapped Nandini and left to Tamil Nadu and reached Karnataka. On Tuesday, police got a clue at Tirupati RTC reservation counter, it was a ticket booked by kidnapper to Bangalore.

Though she booked a ticket under alias Manjula, she entered her original mobile number in reservation register. She hasn’t completed entire journey in the bus but got down at Vellore and then reached Karnataka.

The police tracked the number to Bengaluru and on Friday morning they arrested Shalini and reunited the child Nandini with her parents in Tirumala. The child was reunited with her parents, B Suresh and Drakshaini at Tirumala Police station in the presence of Tirupati Urban SP Abhishek Mohanty on Friday night.

Police mentioned that CCTV camera footage and mobile tracking, electronic and print media support was helped in the investigation of the case.
