Atmakur (Kurnool): Bairluti Forest Range Officer has sensitised students regarding the significance of tiger conservation for maintaining ecological balance.

He was participating in a rally along with the Chenchu students in Bairluti on Saturday in connection with the World Tiger Day celebrations. The tiger is on the verge of extinction and rings alarm bells to ecological imbalance, he said.

He conducted essay-writing and elocution contest for school students at Nallakalva and presented prizes to the winners. The objective of celebrating the World Tiger Day, since July 29, 2010, is to increase the tiger population in the country by 2020.
