Parvathipuram (Vizianagaram): The Maoists on Saturday observed Martyrs Day in a grand manner in Andhra Odisha boarder. Hundreds of Maoists and thousands of Tribals and sympathisers have attended the programme and raised their voice against the anti-people policies of the government.

The Maoists have organised a huge meeting in Porapadar village of Bandhugam Samithi in Narayanapatnam block on Friday night.

Even they have unveiled the flag and an iconic tower remembering the Maoists who lost their lives in the movement. The leaders of Srikakulam division committee alleged that government is working for corporates and not for commonman and called upon people to join hands to fight against capitalistic policies.

The Maoists are organising martyrs’ week between July 28 and August 3 in Agency areas. Even they have pasted posters and tied banners in the villages. As precautionary measure, the APSRTC has cancelled bus services from Salur depot.
