Witnessing the success of Telangana Government’s Annapurna Rs 5 meal centres service in Hyderabad, the Andhra Pradesh government are all set to replicate the same in their state.

A team of Municipal Commissioners from AP are planning to begin the service in the state and even met GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

Appreciating the Telangana government for providing good service through Annapurna centres, the Municipal Commissioners discussed the details of the scheme with the GHMC Commissioner who informed them regarding the amount being spent towards it.

He mentioned that GHMC spends Rs. 37 crore towards the subsidy offered for the Rs 5 meals which are being provided in association with Hare Krishna Movement. More than 37,000 people in the city have lunch at the 150 Annapurna centres. The state government is planning to set up the centres even in Warangal.
