Collector promises aid from Chief Minister fund
Expressing concern over health condition of Wilson disease affected Sivaram of Bheemili, Collector Pravin Kumar assured the 15-year-old boy’s parents of aid from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, in Visakhapatnam on Monday. Wilson disease is a rare genetic disorder that causes copper poisoning in the body. It affects about 1 in 30,000 people worldwide.
Visakhapatnam: Expressing concern over health condition of Wilson disease affected Sivaram of Bheemili, Collector Pravin Kumar assured the 15-year-old boy’s parents of aid from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, in Visakhapatnam on Monday.
Wilson disease is a rare genetic disorder that causes copper poisoning in the body. It affects about 1 in 30,000 people worldwide.
As the boy comes from a lower middleclass family, the parents Swarnalatha and Madabathula Satyanarayana are in no position to bare medical expenses for treating their child.
“The child should be immediately treated at National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences in Bengaluru and it costs around Rs 3 lakh,” said the parents.
