He said the registered traders under the GST or unregistered traders must follow the new rule without fail and maintain e-way bill while transporting goods.

Vijayawada: Chief Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (SGST) J Syamala Rao said on Monday that a trader who transports goods worth more than Rs 50,000 must possess the e-way bills without fail from August 1 onwards. He said the registered traders under the GST or unregistered traders must follow the new rule without fail and maintain e-way bill while transporting goods.

In a statement on Monday, the Chief Commissioner said the traders must mention the details of the transport company, vehicle registration number and quantity of goods supplied through the vehicles. In case of transport vehicles, he said the traders should furnish the transport declaration which can be downloaded from the website www.apct.gov.in.

Syamala Rao informed that in case of vehicles which carry goods suffer a breakdown, the traders must submit transshipment declaration where and why the vehicle which carried the luggage broke down and into which vehicle the stock was transferred.

He said the traders can register the details of e-way bills through the website. Meanwhile, the traders are concerned over levy of hefty penalty in case they failed to carry the e-way bills. The traders raised the issue on many occasions, during the GST awareness meetings conducted by State and Central government officials who are working under the GST.
