TTD security seizes gun,14 bullets at Alipiri
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams security officials seized one gun and 14 rounds of bullets from a vehicle registered in Maharashtra State at Alipiri check post entrance as part of routine vehicle checking on Wednesday morning. TTD Special Protection Force (SPF) staff found 14 rounds of bullets under the car’s front seat and seized a mini pistol from the back seat.

Security officials nab a Pune-based devotee for probe
They handed over the gun, bullets and car to Tirumala II Town police for further investigation. According to police, a Pune-based devotee Vijaya Mane and his family members came to Tirupati for Srivari darshan in car. When they are heading to Tirumala, as part of security check, the TTD staff conducted search and found gun and bullets.
However, Vijaya Mane told the security officials that the gun has a license. As per TTD security norms, carrying of licensed weapon is prohibited in the hill shrine.Even as per gun license rules, the license holder cannot have permitted to handover the gun unofficially to others or his own family members.
Under these two clauses Tirumala police have booked FIR against Vijaya Mane. Similarly, the TTD security personnel seized five bottles of liquor and small quantity of ganja in Tamil Nadu vehicle on same day.
TTD Chief Security and Vigilance Officer Ake Ravi Krishna, SPF officials have examined the seized weapon, bullets, ganja and liquor bottles.
