Vijayawada: Communist Party of India (CPI) national secretary Dr K Narayana said the NDA government led by BJP planned to withdraw gas subsidy following the directions of the World Bank.

Speaking to the media persons here on Wednesday, he said the BJP had changed its earlier stance and was following the policies of the World Bank.

He pointed out that the BJP did not mention lifting of subsidy on cooking gas and implementation of GST in its manifesto before the elections.

He flayed the BJP-led NDA government for neglecting assurances given its election manifesto while implementing unannounced issues. Criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for implementing anti-people’s policies, the CPI leader alleged that the BJP government was handing over administrative powers to RSS and VHP in Gujarat.

He also criticised the BJP for trying to politicise all issues. Narayana opined that film actor and Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan might not contest in the next elections with the TDP as an ally. CPI leaders Muppala Nageswara Rao and Akkineni Vanaja were also present.
