YSRCP alleges Collector spared TD leaders from turmeric scam
YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) district convener and Sarvepalli MLA Kakani Govardhan Reddy came down heavily on District Collector for not including the names of TDP leaders from Udayagiri area in turmeric procurement scam. Speaking to the media at Kavali on Wednesday, the YSRCP MLA has said 19 VROs were made scapegoats in the case.
Nellore: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) district convener and Sarvepalli MLA Kakani Govardhan Reddy came down heavily on District Collector for not including the names of TDP leaders from Udayagiri area in turmeric procurement scam. Speaking to the media at Kavali on Wednesday, the YSRCP MLA has said 19 VROs were made scapegoats in the case.
Kakani demanded that the Collector should take action against the TDP leaders in the scam, who are trying to get anticipatory bail. He said Collector Mutyala Raju, who hails from a rural background, had failed to do justice to the people by bowing to the pressure of the ruling government. The MLA asked why the Collector had failed to take action against the TDP leaders, who were directly involved in the turmeric scam.
Further, Kakani said they had met District Superintendent of Police (SP) PHD Ramakrishna to know the details of cricket betting case. To a question, the MLA stated that he never requested the SP to bail out his party leaders from cricket betting case. Kavali MLA R Pratap Kumar Reddy, former legislator M Chandrasekhar Reddy and others were present.
