On account of the festival, even dried flowers were lapped up by customers. The price is unprecedented. The yellow variety commanded go demand. Flower shops were abuzz with women making purchases.

Right from the morning, devotees started visiting the market here to buy flowers. Moreover, weekly shandies are held in the town on Fridays. Therefore, the market is abuzz with people thronging the market. Flower vendors brought their supplies from Kadiam, near here, for the Thursday’s sale. Women use chrysanthemums compared to other varieties as the other varieties would fast lose their freshness.
