Kakinada: Police foiled Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham’s proposed yatra yet again, at Kirlampudi on Thursday. It should be recalled that Mudragada was under house arrest until August 2. The Kapu leader said that he would start on his proposed padayatra from August 3.

However, on Thursday, no sooner Mudragada stepped out of his house along with his followers than the police stopped him at the entrance stating that there was no permission for the padayatra. At around 9 am, Mudragada and his followers came out shouting that they would complete padayatra at any cost. When police stopped him, heated exchanges took place and a visibly miffed Mudragada retreated to his home, not before staging a protest by hitting plates with spoons.

He told reporters that he would rest until he completes his padayatra and would resume tomorrow. Earlier in the police stopped more followers from reaching Mudragada’s house. This was the third time that police foiled Mudrugada’s padayatra.
