Anantapur: Information and Rural Housing Minister Kalava Srinivasulu has expressed concern at the water levels in the Tungabhadra reservoir which are at an all-time low. Participating in a review meeting with the HLC engineers and staff at R&B Guest House here on Friday,

Srinivasulu said that the district needs 10 tmcft water to meet its drinking water requirement. He said that only 20 tmcft water is in the reservoir and the district is eligible for drawing only 6 tmcft water.
However, he expressed optimism that usually the reservoir brims with life only in August. This was evident from the records of the past 7 years, he added. The Minister made an appeal to the people and farmers to take note of the water position.
