Visakhapatnam: Law is dynamic and changes every time to suit the needs and requirements of the civil society, said High Court Judge Justice U Durga Prasad Rao. Justice Durga Prasad was in the city on the invitation of Visakhapatnam Bar Association to speak on profession orientation classes being held in the city for the first time. Over 70 judicial officers and 600 advocates participated in the programme on Saturday at VUDA Children Theatre in the city.

Justice U Durga Prasad said that over the years the law has been changing rapidly and the people of yesteryears could not have imagined that the law undergoes drastic changes over the years. Law is dynamic and made to suit the changing needs and to adapt to the requirements of the society. There have been drastic changes in rape laws, he said and cited the inclusion of law for prevention of sexual offences against the children.

Principal District Judge Jyotirmai, president of Visakhapatnam Bar Association P Balakrishna, secretary Jagdeeswara Rao, president, Forum of Legal Professionals Kuppili Muralidhar, Bar Council members BVR Murthy, S Krishna Mohan, Madhavi Latha and a large number of women advocates participated in the programme. Later, Second Additional District Judge U Satya Rao dwelt on the aspect of evidence Act, while DVSS Somyajulu senior advocate spoke on arbitration law.

Justice Durga prasad spoke on the fourth memorial lecture of Padmanabaha Reddy on the topic of jurisprudence and judicial exposition of human rights at Lions Community Hall organised by Indian Association of Lawyers. President of Indian Association of Lawers KS Suresh Kumar, general secretary Jaha Ara, president of Forum of Legal Professionals Kuppili Muralidhar and Principal District Judge PV Jyotirmai were present.
