According to available information, the deceased was married to Dasari Mallanna of Chenchu Gudem three years ago. The couple was said to be happy for a year so and later fights between the couple sprouted for not being able to have children.

With the issue bothering his marital life, the accused Mallanna was said to have been addicted to vices. He was also known to be suspecting his wife’s character due to which frequent quarrels used to take place between the couple, stated the source.

As usual, Mallanna on Friday came home in an inebriated state and picked up a quarrel with his wife over a small issue. The family members resolved the situation for the time being but the accused was in a fit of rage and was hatching a plan to kill her. On the early hours of Saturday, while the family members were fast asleep, Mallanna attacked his wife with an axe and hacked her to death.

Before the family members could come to Nagamani’s aid the situation had gone out of hand. They found Nagamani on the ground bleeding profusely and she was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment.The doctors declared her as brought dead.

On learning about the incident, the Srisailam police station Circle Inspector, V Srinivasa Murthy rushed to the spot and enquired about the incident. He said a case has been filed on the complaint lodged by the deceased’s family members and investigation has been taken up. ‘However, we have launched a man hunt to nab the accused’, stated the Circle Inspector.
