Chittoor: District Collector PS Pradyumna on Sunday established an ideal atmosphere in the district administration making all district officers to involve in themselves in developmental schemes with a team spirit. His way of functioning is said to be highly impressive and sets a role model by mingling with people. As he happened to come out from tribal community, Pradyumna uses to maintain close access with people of lower rung sections.

It is highly commendable that K Shilpa, wife of Collector P S Pradyumna is also maintaining the same trait and taking part in social services.

She is highly educated and committed to serve the needy sections of the society within her jurisdiction. Shilpa has adopted the Mahasamudram Anganwadi Centre at Bangarupalem mandal, a few days ago where the children are said to be neglected. She visited the Mahasamudram anganwadi centre along with her daughter Avyaktha, 7 and son Vikramadithya, 2 recently.

She enquired about requirements of the anganwadi centre with the concerned workers and helpers. She presented a computer to the anganwadi centre and distributed charts, steel plates and stationery for the benefit of children.

She also offered sweets, fruits and first aid medical kit. She also introduced her daughter and son to the children studying in the anganwadi centre. She spent hours together with students ascertaining the skills of children. She also appealed to anganwadi teacher and helper to be very prompt and attentive to look after the needs of children.

“The government is very particular to strengthen anganwadi centres and welfare of children. Permanent buildings would be provided for all the anganwadi centres in a phased manner. Philanthropists, charitable institutions, non-governmental agencies and affordable sections should come forward to adopt the anganwadi centres liberally for creating a wonderful society in future,” she added.

Shilpa said that she would be visiting the anganwadi centre frequently to review the progress of children studying in the centre. Though she is the wife of a District Collector, it is highly appreciable that Shilpa has stood as an icon and role model for the others too.
