A talented Kumari studied to be a doctor but failed to study the mind of the ‘lover’ who smashed her dreamy world. Her love for him was so blind that she was willing to marry him even as he had a family already.
The moment of truth was when she realised her belief in him was not sustainable. Her pedestal caved in crumbling her aspirations on life and its beauty. The lady doctor and her ‘lover’ used to meet in a church and the saga of love started only to end in tragedy.
A police official said that Babi had the ‘talent’ to attract women. That might be the reason for his so-called love relationship lasting for seven years. The 10-year difference in their age was not a hurdle for the love from lady doctor side.
He managed to incite her and cheat her for years together. It was only five months ago she came to know about his wife and children. The roots of the lady doctor’s love were so strong that she was willing to marry him even after knowing he was married.
When she began to pressurise him on marriage, he started distancing himself from her. The flashpoint of their relation was their last meeting on July 31 when he rejected her marriage proposal. With no love left in him to share with her, she could not digest the bitter truth. She took the extreme step and leaped into the Ryves canal by leaving her moped there.
Based on the complaint lodged by her mother Korlapati Mariyamma, the police arrested Babi and sent him to 14- day remand. The postmortem of victim’s body showed that it was a clear case of suicide. Her parents took her body to G Kondur for performing last rites. The police noticed that Dr Kumari had visited the residence of Vidya Sagar in the CCTV footage.
