Tirupati: Students Federation of India (SFI) AP State president Y Ramu demanded that both Central and State governments should strengthen the higher education system in across the country.

Participating as chief guest in SFI district plenary meeting at SV University on Sunday, Ramu said that present education policy of the government is pro-private and due to this attitude, the education at school and college level in public sector was gradually becoming defunct.

He demanded the government to scrap the AP Self-finance School Education Act 2017 due to this new education reform poor people cannot afford quality education.

The SFI state president appealed to the government to fill up vacancies in colleges and schools, which was for many years. He called upon the students to fight against the communalisation of education across the nation.

In the meeting, SFI Chittoor district unit president S Saddam, Secretary MadvaKrishna, student learders Giri, Prassanna, Krishna and Bhanu were present.
