The police raided a house located at Gavarakancharapalem in the city and found illegal sedative drugs which have been selling to the youth.

Visakhapatnam: Fourth Town police arrested three persons, who were involved in illegal sale of sedative drugs in the city, on Sunday. The accused were identified as Ch Ganapathi Reddy, S Mahanthi Kiran Kumar and M Sridhar. The police raided a house located at Gavarakancharapalem in the city and found illegal sedative drugs which have been selling to the youth.

Inspector of Fourth Town R Satyanarayana at a press conference said that the Inspector, Drug Control Administration K Indira Bharathi lodged a complaint on August 3 stating that a medical shop has been selling sedative drugs without any licence and valid bills. Responding on the complaint, the police started investigation and found several irregularities in the sale of sedative drugs.

According to the Inspector, Drug Control Administration, the accused are using invalid licence in the name of Richards Life Sciences, Sitampeta, in the city which was closed two years ago. However, the accused bringing the sedative drugs from various other places and selling in the city.

In the raids, the police seized 96 boxes of Codience Phosphate and Chlorpheniramine Maleate syrup (Kodex Syrup) and 30 packs of Combipack of Mifepristone and Misoprostol tablets (L-Pill) kits. Police registered a case and further investigation is on.
