Andal Veerapandian and Papita Nivas, wives of former civic chief and Anantapur Collector Veerapandian and VMC Commissioner J Nivas respectively, participated in Happy Sunday.

They said it was a memorable moment to be part of the programme. They played and danced with students at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium here.
Speaking on the occasion, Andal applauded the efforts of the officials to continue Happy Sunday which was started during the tenure of her husband Veerapandian as Municipal Commissioner.Papita, in her address, said it was for the first time she was participating in such a wonderful programme. The Happy Sunday venue was a stage to prove one’s talent in dance and other things.
Appreciation certificates were given to participants who joined in various cultural programmes. Students of MSR School took part in cultural programmes organised by Southern Travels. Prayoj organisation educated people on using making clay idols. Many took part in Karate, Yoga, Handball, Baseball and other sports at the event.
