Polavaram (West Godavari): Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced that 25 irrigation projects across the state would be completed within three months.

He reached Polavaram project site at Ramayyapeta village in Polavaram mandal on Monday afternoon and inspected the ongoing works. Despite the heavy rains, he visited the block-3 spillway works, deep cutting area of the project.
The engineering officials explained the works taken up during the last month.

Later, the Chief Minister reached the hilltop site of the project, where a meeting was arranged to give appointment orders to the newly-recruited assistant executive engineers (AEE). Addressing, the newly recruited 518 AEEs, Naidu said that the state government created a history by recruiting 518 engineers. “The new recruits are highly educated, they studied in the prestigious institutions like IIT, and NITs. Some of them completed M.Tech,” he stated.

The Chief Minister dubbed Polavaram project as lifeline of Andhra Pradesh. This is the biggest project that in this generation. Utilise this opportunity to explore and work with commitment and dedication,” he sought to advise.

Referring to the water conservation, Naidu said that water was a precious commodity. “It will decide the development of any area. Now there are water disputes between the states, as the Krishna River failed for consecutive years.

However, by utilising water from River Godavari water, the state government has saved crops in Krishna Delta. It is necessary to link the rivers and use the water flowing to sea. We must conserve the water,” he asserted Ministers Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao, KS Jawahar, Polavaram MLA Modiyum Srinivasa Rao, MP Thota Sitarama Lakshmi and other officials
were present.
