Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu assured the district BJP leaders when they called on him in New Delhi on Monday that the facilities at the railway stations in Srikakulam district would be upgraded and the superfast express trains would halt at the main stations at Srikakulam road (Amudalavalasa) and Palasa stations in the district.

Srikakulam: Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu assured the district BJP leaders when they called on him in New Delhi on Monday that the facilities at the railway stations in Srikakulam district would be upgraded and the superfast express trains would halt at the main stations at Srikakulam road (Amudalavalasa) and Palasa stations in the district.

He told them that these measures would be introduced in the next year’s annual budget.The district BJP leaders who met the Railway Minister brought to his notice the poor facilities available at the railway stations in the district and need for enhancing the number of halts for superfast express trains at the two railway stations mentioned above.

The BJP leaders also told the Minister that the developmental activities at Palasa station were badly hit due to the control exercised by Waltair and Khurdha. The BJP leaders also sought facilities like toilets and water at all the railway stations. Responding to their demand, the Minister assured them that all the necessary facilities would be provided in the next year’s budget.

District BJP leaders K Viswanadham, P Venugopalam, D Ravindra Babu, A Ravi Babji, P Gaddayya, R Narayana Rao and S Rama Rao called on the Railway Minister.
