Only two nominations were filed on the first day of nominations for Kakinada Municipal Corporation elections on Monday. Two centres were set up for distributing nomination applications on the premises of corporation office here. On the first day, 170 nomination applications were distributed.

Only two candidates filed their papers for division 35 and division 44. Inti Ganga Ratnam filed her nomination from YSR Congress party for division 44 while D Ramana Raju filed nomination as an Independent candidate for division 35. 17 centres were set up across Kakinada city for receiving filled nominations.
