US doc ties rakhi to Venkaiah
Dr Charlotte Roberts of USA tied Rakhi to Vice-President elect M Venkaiah Naidu at SVIMS here on Monday. He visited SVIMS to participate in the inaugurations and laying foundation stones for various development works.
Tirupati: Dr Charlotte Roberts of USA tied Rakhi to Vice-President elect M Venkaiah Naidu at SVIMS here on Monday. He visited SVIMS to participate in the inaugurations and laying foundation stones for various development works.
As the day being celebrated as Raksha Bandhan which falls on Sravana Poornima Day every year, Charlotte Roberts came on to the stage and tied Rakhi to Venkaiah. She is working in VCU Medical Centre, Richmond, Virginia. She was in SVIMS along with a team of doctors to attend the cardiology workshop.
Venkaiah conveyed his greetings to the women and young medical students on the occasion saying that it is a very pious day in Indian history and culture as Indians always take care of their sisters and sisters take care of their brothers. “I will take care of you, you take care of me and let’s both take care of the country is the thinking and philosophy of the country,” he described. Local MLA M Suguna also tied the Rakhi to Venkaiah.
