Kurnool: YSRC chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy in his explanation to Election Commission (EC) on Tuesday, said that he has no malice in his comments against the Chief Minister but instead used the words to drive home a point that promises were not fulfilled.

It should be recalled that the EC issued notices to YS Jaganmohan Reddy for his comments “Shoot Chandrababu Naidu in the middle of the road” during a public meeting at Nandyal on Thursday.

Speaking to The Hans India, a senior leader with YSRC said that Jagan’s comments against the Chief Minister were not personal, they only reflect his desperation that TDP government was not doing anything for the welfare of the people. “His outburst was reflection of public mood. He only meant to teach the Chief Minister a lesson by voting YSRC to power. They should not be taken literally,” explained the senior leader.

When asked about the reply from Jagan, returning officer V Prasanna Venkatesh said that they served notices as per the law on Saturday. “He was asked to respond within 48 hours. Accordingly, Jagan sent his
explanation to this office,” he informed. The same would be sent to the EC to pursue further. However, the RO declined to reveal more about Jagan’s explanation.
