Hyderabad: Heavy rain occurred at isolated places in West Godavari, Krishna,Guntur, Prakasam and Nellore districts in coastal Andhra Pradesh, besides all four districts in Rayalaseema on Wednesday, courtesy upper air cyclonic circulation over north-east MP and the trough from Chhattisgarh to south Tamil Nadu across Telangana and south coastal districts.

The Met department bulletin said the Southwest monsoon was normal over the coastal and Rayalaseema districts during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Wednesday.

The forecast warned of heavy rain lashing all coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema districts on August 12. It said there would be light to moderate rain/thundershowers at a few/many places in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema from August 10 to 14. No large change during the subsequent three days in the weather outlook.

The chief amounts of rainfall recorded (in cm) in the two regions of the state were:Royachoti (Kadapa district) 11, Tiruvuru (Krishna) 9, Podili, Chimakurthi (both Prakasam) 8 each, Piduguralla (Guntur),Arogyavaram (Chittoor), Pamidi (Anantapur) 7 each, Karamchedu (Prakasam), Chapad (Kadapa), Vempalle (Kadapa) 6 each, Jangamaheswarapuram (Guntur), Marripudi (Prakasam), Nandyal (Kurnool) 5, Kamalapuram and Lakkireddipalle (both Kadapa) 5 each.

While there was four cm of rain each in Ongole, Darsi, Pathapatnam,Proddutur, Duvvur, Konakanamitla, three cm each was recorded in Tekkali, Addanki, Macherla, Sattenapalle, Mandapalle, Vallur, Guntakal, Gurramkonda. There was two cm rain each in Bapatla, Markapur, Yerragondapalem, Palakonda, Chinnamandem,Dhone, Obuladevaracheruvu and Uravakonda.
