He was shown burners, ‘Pinda Pradana Bhavan’, lockers to keep the mortal remains of the body and other facilities. Later, speaking to the media, the Assembly Speaker said it is a very good idea to build such a crematorium. Now a days, no one is taking care of cremation grounds and they are the most neglected,

he said and added that people are giving negative impression about cremation grounds by saying that they were surrounded by ghosts and devils. But, it is such a sacred place where our loved ones reach at the end of their journey, he stated. It should be projected a safe and sacred place. The Speaker appreciated Mahaprasthana Seva Samithi (MSS) for building Govinda Dhamam here for taking up such a great task.

They have planned everything right from bringing the dead body in a special vehicle to the crematorium to handing over of ashes to the concerned, Kodela said. Every provision is available here which will make the performing of final rites much easier. This type of eco-friendly crematoriums should come up in the entire country, he opined.

The project was taken up with an estimated cost of Rs 1.8 crore by the MSS consisting of The Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, Arya Vysya Officials and Professionals Association (AVOPA) and Satya Harischandra Hindu Rudra Bhoomi Society. It will extend services to anyone irrespective of caste or creed.

Tirupati Municipal Corporation has allotted one-acre land under the limits of Thimminaidu Palem Panchayat on the Karakambadi road. Funds were mobilised by the MSS from social service organisations, firms and people. Even, NRI Associations and Amar Raja Industries gave donations. Tirupati MP V Varaprasad has donated Rs 15 lakhs from MPLADS.
