Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh will become the hub of educational institutions with the setting up prestigious universities and development of infrastructure facilities in colleges, universities and schools in the State, said HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao. Addressing a media conference in a hotel on Friday, the Minister said the AP Government is spending Rs.670 crore for infrastructure development in the Universities.

He said prestigious universities like VIT, SRM, Amruta will set up branches in the capital Amaravati and added that the state government is developing three educational cities at Vizag, Tirupati and Amaravati in the coming years. He said the government allocated 3,408 acre land for various educational institutions in the State .
Referring to setting up national universities as per State Reorganisation Act, he said the Union Government decided to establish Central University at Anantapur and Tribal University in Vizianagaram district.
Referring to private educational institutions, he said the Government is planning to accord single window procedure to allot permission for setting up educational institutions in the State. Giving details of national educational institutions, he said IIT, IIM, NIT, IIIT, Central and Tribal Universities will come up as per the State Bifurcation Act.
