Vijayawada: The Krishna district police, for the first time, introduced Locked House Monitoring System (LHMS) in three towns in the district on an experimental basis.

According to Superintendent of Police SS Tripathi, the new system has been launched in Machilipatnam, Gudivada and Nandigama towns. He called upon the people of the towns to make better use of this system. He further stated that the people could download the app, but the CCTV cameras would be linked to the Control Room only after 15 days.

The Superintendent of Police informed the people that the ‘appolice’ app would be freely downloaded on android phones from Google playstore. Those seeking the LHMS should register their name, address and mobile number from their house itself using the app.

They would be allotted a registration number. When they are leaving home for a few days on any work, they should specify the number of non-availability in the app.

The police nearer to their home would come and install CCTV cameras at the house. In case of thieves enter their premises in owner’s absence, the police would receive photos and live videos at the Control Room and an alarm would alert the police.

The same information would be received by nearest beat police and they would reach the spot without delay. The pictures taken by the CCTV cameras can be used as an evidence in courts, the SP added.
