Garlapadu, Tulagam and Kollivalasa villages were demanding the government clear payments under R&R package and completion rehabilitation colonies before the completion of the project.

They also threatened to stop works if officials neglected their demands. Hence, police arrested 45 persons and shifted them to Amudalavalasa police station as a preventive measure. Speaking on the occasion, the displaced people alleged that the officials are trying to vacate them forcibly without clear payments.

Human Rights Forum (HRF) state vice-president KV Jagannadha Rao rushed to Amudalavalasa police station and expressed solidarity with the arrested people. Speaking on the occasion, he condemned the arrests. He demanded the District Collector and other officials to clear payments.CPM leader M Krishna Murthy demanded the government follow 2013 Land Acquisition Act rules for R&R package.
