The Sangam town president Yamuna and secretary Chandrika expressed shock at the government's apathy towards the deaths of children. How can a government that is ranked as progressive by the Centre care so little for infant deaths when they are making a hue and cry over cow slaughter, they asked.
Oxygen not being available in the hospital speaks volumes of the state of affairs in the hospital, they maintained. They demanded the UP government to pay an ex-gratia of Rs.10 lakh to the family members of the deceased children.
