Miraculous escape for bus passengers
All passengers of an APSRTC bus escaped unhurt when fire broke out after it dashed a truck from behind at Benz Circle here on Sunday. As it is rush hour, traffic jammed on the Kolkata-Chennai highway for about an hour.

Vijayawada: All passengers of an APSRTC bus escaped unhurt when fire broke out after it dashed a truck from behind at Benz Circle here on Sunday. As it is rush hour, traffic jammed on the Kolkata-Chennai highway for about an hour.
The front portion of the bus dashed against the rear side of the truck which was travelling in same direction towards Eluru. The bus was badly damaged and diesel tank leaked under the impact. Fire broke out from the engine. The passengers immediately alighted the bus.
According to police, no complaint was registered by the RTC driver. They took into custody truck driver and seized the truck.
N Balaram, a fruit vendor near the accident spot, said that the passengers were lucky to escape from fire.
