Penukonda: Here is a Sub-inspector of Police who takes his job seriously working 20 out of 24 hours mingling with people to prevent road accidents, crime and in maintaining law and order. Even the superior officers in the police department appreciated the efforts of the Good Samaritan police officer for whom serving the public comes first.

He is Sub-Inspector Janardhan of Penukonda, notorious for factionalism in the past. Janardhan’s concerted actions and precautions in preventing road accidents and untoward incidents make people of the mandal feel more secure.

He sensitises people on ill-effects of factionalism visiting at least one faction ridden village or the other regularly on the outskirts of the mandal. Patrolling at night, he offers lorry drivers water to wash their face and advises them to adhere to precautions.

He buys books and pens for poor students spending from his pocket. He counsels two-wheeler drivers at important junctions on the national highway to wear helmets without fail. He cautions people travelling by goods carriers and advises them to use public transport. He counsels the vehicle drivers against carrying people.

Advising the three-wheeler drivers to keep their parents’ photo near the speedometer, he asks them not to overload their vehicles and desist from rash driving. To maintain ecological balance, he mingles with the hostel students and plants saplings along with them. In the process, he enquires from them about their problems in the hostel.

Expressing concern for the aged, he extends financial support and encourages his colleagues to extend support to the Mother Theresa orphanage and the home for the aged. He identifies mentally deranged persons wandering on roads and entrusts their care to the Mother Teresa Home. He conducts himself in a courteous way with the people visiting the police station.
He discourages people against driving a vehicle without a valid license.
