Chief Minister to inaugurate PPLIS today
Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will dedicate Purushottapatnam Lift Irrigation Scheme (PPLIS) to the state at Purushottapatnam village on August 15 on Tuesday. Later, he releases river Godavari water into Left Main Canal of Polavaram project at Nagampalli village which is 10 KMS away from PPLIS.
Rajamahendravaram: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will dedicate Purushottapatnam Lift Irrigation Scheme (PPLIS) to the state at Purushottapatnam village on August 15 on Tuesday. Later, he releases river Godavari water into Left Main Canal of Polavaram project at Nagampalli village which is 10 KMS away from PPLIS.
The Chief Minister will offer sari, turmeric and kumkum to Godavari Matha at the canal after releasing the water. The lift scheme was aimed to supply Godavari water to East Godavari district and Visakhapatnam districts to cater the drinking water needs and for cultivation as well as industries. The government took up the project with an estimated cost of Rs. 1,632 to complete it in two phases. As part of first phase, the government is releasing water into Left Main Canal.
Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu reaches Rajamahendravaram airport at 1 PM from Tirupati and leaves to PPLIS by a chopper to Nagampalli village. Later he addresses a public meeting at Jaggampeta and leaves to Hyderabad by aircraft from Rajamahendravaram at 4 PM.
