Kakinada: Country's most prominent Maharatna PSU ONGC celebrated its 62nd foundation day here on Monday. Having founded on August 14, 1956, the ONGC has been continuing to lead the nation's march towards attaining self-sufficiency in energy for the past 61 years.

Kakinada-based Eastern Offshore Asset of ONGC which is responsible for some of its most ambitious offshore projects, observed the event at its extensive property at Vakalpudi in Kakinada where it is soon going to construct State of Art office cum Supply Facility Complex also. ONGC Executive Director Alok Nandan unfurled the ONGC flag. In his address to the large number of employees and families gathered on this occasion, Alok Nandan congratulated them on ONGC Day, gave a brief of the ongoing projects.

Asset Manager said that ONGC, particularly the Eastern Offshore Asset, would be providing major share to fulfil Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision in building a strong energy self-sufficient nation.

Alok Nandan also spoke about ONGC's plans to contribute enthusiastically to efforts of state and district authorities for welfare of public. He said that several public outreach projects are in consideration in this regard.
