YSRC Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy stages protest

Nellore: YSRC Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy staged a protest at SP office demanding to reveal name of the legislator, who was allegedly involved in a sensational cricket betting case in which 115 persons were arrested till now.

He handed over representation to the Superintendent of Police PHD Ramakrishna that an accused in the case had allegedly revealed to the police that a MLA had received kickbacks of Rs 40 lakh from bookie Krishna Singh, as his aide was involved in the case, he feared that there were possibilities that people suspect his role.

“Though my name was not mentioned in media, people might suspect my integrity. So, I demanded the SP to name the legislator,” he said, speaking to media.

According to sources, police personnel secured evidence on the role of politicos, officials and others from a laptop, which was used by the main accused Singh They suspected role of some politicos. Police reportedly had information on the role of alleged MLA from the Opposition, who was paid Rs 40 lakh for allegedly managing the police officials.

It may be recalled that name of the YSR Congress Municipal Floor Leader Roop Kumar Yadav and some others of the same party were also mentioned in the list of accused in the case.

Meanwhile, state BJP general secretary Sannapureddy Suresh Reddy appealed to the district police officials to speed up the investigation and also asked the political parties and people from different sectors to come forward to raise their voice against the cricket betting, red sanders mafia to curb such illegal activities across the district.
