Visakhapatnam: In a major move by the district administration, nearly 221.89 acres of land in Padmanabham mandal and Rambilli mandal would be acquired and allotted to Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) for expansion of SEZ free of cost.

In this connection, the revenue department on Thursday issued two Government Orders—No 106, 374— stating alienation of 200 acres parcel of land at Penta village of Padmanabham mandal in favour of APIIC and 21.89 acres land at Pudi village of Rambilli mandal in the district in favour of the zonal manager.

Earlier, the Collector had submitted a proposal for alienation of government land to an extent of 200 acres at Penta village of Padmanabham mandal for setting up of industrial park as per the GO 106. After careful examination, the state government accepted the proposal on Thursday. The conditions set by the government are that the land shall be utilised for the purpose within three years.

Also, land allotted parties should submit an annual report before March 31 on the progress of utilisation to the Collector. If the party concerned failed to comply with the terms and conditions of alienation, the government would reclaim the land. Moreover, the water bodies if any existing in the land should not be disturbed and should be allowed to continue their natural course. The district administration would take further action accordingly in this regard.
