Get prior consent to install Ganesh pandals

Rajamahendravaram: As the nine-day Vinayaka Chaviti festival is fast approaching, many organisations and individuals are making arrangements to install idols of Lord Vinayaka in a variety of pandals in the city.

Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation (RMC) commissioner Vegesna Vijaya Rama Raju appealed to the people to get prior permission to install pandals. As the corporation is executing many developmental works in the city, it is inevitable to
obtain permission from the corporation in this regard, he said.

He made it clear that any damage to roads, drains, etc; will not be tolerated and pandals without permission will not be allowed. He advised people to use Vinayaka idols made of clay avoiding plaster of paris which harms the environment. He called upon people to extend their co-operation to the corporation in this regard.
