Vijayawada: YSRCP SC/ST district presidents and other leaders protested at the BR Ambedkar Statue at Tummalapalli Kalashetram demanding booking of SC/ST atrocity case against Marketing and Animal Husbandry Minister Chadipiralla Adinarayana Reddy and dismiss him from the Cabinet for his alleged comments on SC/ST community.
The minister while addressing the gathering on the Independence Day celebrations said that the SC/STs were treated as untouchable because they don’t have proper education and don’t maintain hygiene.
YSRCP SC district unit president Kale Pulla Rao said BR Ambedkar was recognised globally for his contributions to the Constitution of India but Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and his ministers and leaders were always working against the interests of the community.
He condemned the remarks of Adinarayana Reddy that only 10 years were prescribed for SC/STs reservation and even after 70 years they were enjoying it and treated as untouchable only because they don’t have proper education and don’t maintain hygiene. He demanded filing of SC/ST atrocity case against minister for his comments community.
Stating the ruling party was not leaving any chance to abuse the community, he reminded earlier Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that no one will wish to be born in SC/ST community. Referring to earlier attacks at Chunduru, Karamchedu, Neerukonda, Pathirikuppam and Garagaparru, he said it was very clear that the ruling government was trying to wipe out Dalits from AP.
YSRCP ST district unit president Katta Malleswara Rao blamed the TDP government for diverting SC/ST sub-plan funds and closing tribal welfare hostels in the state. Stating the government was abusing the SC/ST community time and again, he urged to safeguard the constitutional values and dismiss the minister from the Cabinet.SC/ST leaders Bolk Vijaya Kumar, Meda Ramesh, B Srinivas Rao and P Ravi Kumar were present.
