Police launched manhunt for one more accused Sobhit. Giving details of the case, Lanka Arjun, ACP, North, and inspector of Airport police station N Prabhakar said that the offenders managed to get a duplicate key of the ATM and had a bank account with some cash. While one would swipe the card and feed the PIN, the other would switch off the machine after hearing the counting sound and when the cash is ready for delivery in the upper trap.

Then using the key they open the upper panel and make good with the cash. The five-member gang had stolen the cash from the ATM of Kanakamahalakshmi Co-Operative Bank Ltd, located at NAD Junction in the city. Based on the complaint from the manager V Appala Narasimham, police registered a case and investigated on the basis of CCTV footage at the ATM. Police recovered Rs60,000 cash from the accused.
