Gazetted teachers seek fitment formula
Members of Government Colleges Gazetted Teachers Association (GCGTA) staged a protest against the government at Dharna Chowk on Thursday demanding implementation of fitment formula drafted by Adhar Sinha and UGC pay scale for degree lecturers (DL) who were promoted from junior lecturers (JL) between 2010 to 2014.
Vijayawada: Members of Government Colleges Gazetted Teachers Association (GCGTA) staged a protest against the government at Dharna Chowk on Thursday demanding implementation of fitment formula drafted by Adhar Sinha and UGC pay scale for degree lecturers (DL) who were promoted from junior lecturers (JL) between 2010 to 2014.
Addressing the gathering, PDF MLC V Balasubramanyam sought the government to fulfil the demands of DLs by implementing fitment formula prepared by Adhar Sinha and UGC pay scale as the DLs were facing hardships due to inadequate pay as per the AGP minimum pay scale.
He said the government was delaying the issue without taking appropriate measures and added after the bifurcation of the state, the Telangana government had implemented the fitment formula and UGC pay scale but the AP government was dillydallying on the issue making the DLs to suffer.
AP NGOs president P Ashok Babu assured all the DLs that he would take initiative to resolve the issue and said that till now the matter did not come to the notice of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. The GCGTA leaders can explain the issues in detail to implement CCE fitment formula as it would benefit them. About 400 DLs from various parts of state, MLCs Boddu Nageswara Rao, Gade Srinivasulu Naidu and GCGTA leaders participated in the protest.
