It was a field day for chain-snatchers as they committed three similar crimes of snatching gold chains within a short span of one hour under the jurisdiction of Patamata police station limits on Thursday.
Vijayawada: It was a field day for chain-snatchers as they committed three similar crimes of snatching gold chains within a short span of one hour under the jurisdiction of Patamata police station limits on Thursday.
The chain-snatchers, riding a motorcycle, made their presence at Maruti Cooperative Colony and grabbed a 40-gram ‘nanutadu’ from housewife Jhansi Bai (50) who was returning home from an eatery around 10.30 am.
At Srinivasa Nagar of Bank Colony, a woman, N Sumati (60) was next victim. The offenders ran off with ‘nanutadu’ when she was picking flowers in front of her home.
Padmaja (47) of Currency Nagar was on her way home from a temple when two youth riding the bike snatched 70-gram ‘mangalasutra’ around 11 am. Police registered a case.Meanwhile, the city police released CCTV camera photos of suspected chain-snatchers and announced reward for any clue.
