Visakhapatnam: The Narsipatnam town police on Friday arrested three persons on charges of murdering a 19-year-old youth Madala Raghu Varma, who was killed over rivalry in ganja business, on Monday. The arrested were identified as Marra Chinni (24), a resident of Narsipatnam, S Narayana Murthy (21), a native of Rolugunta area and V Ramana (24), a private employee and native of Guramdorapalem.

The police said that deceased Raghu Varma and the accused Narayana Murthy were friends for some time and were involved in ganja trade. They were arrested by Golugonda police for transporting the contraband in August 2016. After release from the jail, differences arose between them and both split their partnership.

The police said two months ago Raghu had demanded money from Narayana for doing the ganja business separately. Narayana refused to budge and instead had a heated argument with him.
An enraged Raghu beat up Narayana for refusing to pay and threatened him with dire consequences. Upset over the incident Narayana had developed a grudge against Raghu and decided to eliminate him as he would be a threat to his business.

Taking help from his friends Chinni and Ramana, Narayana stabbed Raghu near RTC Complex in Narsipatnam on August 14. The police arrested the trio and seized a bike from them. They were later produced in the sub-court and sent to judicial remand.
