Srikakulam: Good career opportunities are waiting for talented youth in tourism sector as it is one of the fastest growing fields in the world, said BR Ambedkar University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Gollapalli Nageswara Rao.

He unveiled a logo on tourism at the campus in Etcherla in Srikakulam on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, he explained that the state government has decided to conduct essay, quiz, elocution competitions for students of degree and other courses in all the districts across the state on tourism sector.

Chief Minister N Chandra Babu Naidu will distribute prizes to the winners from each district in Amaravati on the World Tourism Day. For each district coordinators have been appointed to conduct competitions, the Vice-Chancellor informed.
To create awareness among the students over the tourism sector and to choose tourism as a career, the state government has decided conduct these competitions at district-level, explained BRAU registrar Prof Gunta Thulasi Rao.

Competitions district coordinator Tammineni Kamaraju said last date for registering names for competitions is August 30 and competitions will be held on September 7 at the Government Arts College campus in Srikakulam, he said. “We are passing this information to all degree, PG, professional colleges to see that a large number of students take part in the contest,” he said.
