Guntur: Medical and Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas on Friday said the government will sanction Rs 2,500 pension every month to those undergoing dialysis in the government hospitals.

Inaugurating dialysis unit at the GGH in Guntur city, the Minister said the department has already submitted necessary proposals in this regard to the government for taking further action.

Stating that every day about 60 to 70 patients were visiting GGH for dialysis, the Minister said the government will allot 19 beds for dialysis and take steps to render better services on par with corporate hospitals in the GGH. He also briefed the steps taken by the government to render better services in the government hospitals in the State.

Later, the Minister conducted a meeting with officials over the works taken in GGH. The Minister directed the officials to set up sewage treatment plant in GGH to solve drainage problem and suggested to discuss the issue in the hospital development committee meeting with the Collector. He said Andhra Pradesh Medical Infrastructure Development Corporation would supply lab kits to GGH to conduct tests.

Earlier, addressing a meeting held at Andhra Pradesh Medical Infrastructure Development Corporation office in Mangalagiri town, the Minister said tenders for construction of building for All India Institute of Medical Sciences was finalised and works will start soon.

He said the government will construct drug stores in all the districts. Earlier, Dr Sipayee Subrahmanyam, (Tirupati), Dr Narayana (Anakapalli) took over charge as APMIDC members in the presence of Kamineni Srinivas.
