Visakhapatnam: Naval Science and Technological Laboratory (NSTL) celebrated its 48th Lab Raising Day on Friday. The NSTL has grown multi-fold and has made significant contributions to defence and recognised as one of the premier labs of DRDO engaged in development of underwater weapons and systems.

Speaking at the celebrations programme, the Flag Officer Commanding-in- Chief, Eastern Naval Command, Vice-Admiral, HCS Bisht, commended NSTL for their achievements and expressed hope for greater synergy between NSTL and Indian Navy towards equipping the navy with best quality weapons and associated systems and technologies.

The Director, NSTL OR Nandagopan, recalled the stellar contributions of scientists, officers and staff in making NSTL what it is today. He explained the various achievements of the lab over the past year and also the progress on the innovative technologies to meet futuristic requirements.

The NSTL was also working on a consortium approach with industry and academia for speedy, time-bound delivery of systems to the user.
