The voters can exercise their franchise without any disruptions. Anyone involving in antisocial activities would be taken into task whoever or whatever their position may be.

DGP holds review meeting with senior police officials

The officer after taking charge as Director General of Police of Andhra Pradesh had visited Kurnool for the first time. The Rayalaseema Inspector General of Police, Shaik Muhammad Iqbal, Kurnool Range Deputy Inspector General of Police, Ghatamaneni Srinivas and District Superintendent of Police, Gopinath Jettigave him a warm welcome.

The DGP held a review meeting with the officers on the security arrangements for the by-elections. Later speaking to media, Sambasiva Rao said that so far two paramilitary forces have been deployed and four more para military forces and APSP Forces are yet to be deployed. The local police will take care of the disputes pertaining to those areas, added the DGP.

Stating that Nandyal is a big constituency, the DGP said it has two mandals with a Municipality. High security has been beefed up at village level to bring untoward incidents in control.

Even tight security has been done at polling centres. Inspectors, Sub Inspectors and other police personnel have been directed to monitor the things minutely that are taking place and act accordingly, stated the officer.

Sambasiva Rao said that so far the police department has registered only 11 cases whereas the figure was 36 at the earlier elections. He further warned that stringent action would be initiated on the violators and urged the people to vote in a peaceful atmosphere.
