He conducted a review meeting with the officials of the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation, L and T Company, Public Health Department at his chambers and reviewed the progress of the works.

The Collector said the prestigious project was taken up at a cost of Rs 461 crore to resolve the water logging problem in the city but the objective is not fulfilled due to slow progress of works. He said the storm water drain project design was approved in February 2017 for the construction of 142 km major drains and 301 km minor drains in the city.

He expressed displeasure over the poor progress of works and asked the officials and L and T company representatives to hasten the works to complete the works by December 2018.
