The week-long health camp is being organised by INHS Kalyani in association with Aarogya Group of Navy Wives Welfare Association.

Visakhapatnam: As part of Swarn Varsh celebrations of Eastern Naval Command, a health check-up camp for women dependants of serving naval and defence civilian personnel, was inaugurated by Bimla Bisht, President NWWA (ER), at naval hospital INHS Kalyani here on Saturday. The week-long health camp is being organised by INHS Kalyani in association with Aarogya Group of Navy Wives Welfare Association.

The health check-up camp is being undertaken to screen various diseases relevant to the age group of above 40 years such as thyroid disorders, diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis and nutritional deficiencies along with screening for breast and cervical cancers.

The screening would include a barrage of investigations, including ECG, bone densitometry, viral markers and evaluation by a panel of specialists, including a gynaecologist who shall be doing a pap-smear test. The camp is aimed at screening around 500 to 600 women during this period following which all remedial measures shall be provided at this hospital.
