Sports Academy to start work in Sept
Sports Academy, which was set up at the Kodela Siva Prasada Rao Stadium in Narasaraopet, will start functioning from September first week.It will impart necessary training in weightlifting and taekwondo to the players who secured first, second and third places in the district-level competitions.
Guntur: Sports Academy, which was set up at the Kodela Siva Prasada Rao Stadium in Narasaraopet, will start functioning from September first week.It will impart necessary training in weightlifting and taekwondo to the players who secured first, second and third places in the district-level competitions.

- It will impart training to 20 boys in weightlifting, 20 in Taekwondo
- Players who secured first, second, third places in district- level competitions will be selected for training
According to officials sources, it will impart training to 20 boys in weightlifting and another twenty boys in taekwondo. As per the guidelines and instructions of the Sports Authority, the Sports Academy officials will select the players and impart the necessary training. In order to start training in weightlifting, the officials have to get necessary equipment in the academy.
They are expecting that before completing the selection of the players for training, they will get necessary equipment. The SAAP has to appoint the coaches for weightlifting and taekwondo.Meanwhile, the government is constructing the hostel building on the stadium premises to accommodate 100 players at a cost of Rs 2 crore. The government has completed all the necessary formalities to start the work.
